MANILA, Philippines – Lumago ang manufacturing output sa dami at kalidad noong Mayo, ayon sa ulat ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
Sa resulta ng Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries na inilabas nitong Biyernes, Hulyo 7, lumabas na ang value of production index (VaPi) ay lumago ng 10.3% noong Mayo mula sa 10.1% noong Abril.
Mas mataas ito ng 6.6% noon namang Mayo 2022.
“The annual upturn in the VaPI in May 2023 was mainly contributed by the faster annual increase in the manufacture of electrical equipment industry division at 54.2 percent in May 2023 from 19.5 percent in the previous month,” ayon sa PSA.
Kabilang sa mga industriyang lumago ay ang mga gumagawa ng pagkain, transport equipment, coke, refine petroleum products, beverages, manufacturing and repair at installation ng machinery at equipment, basic metals, iba pang non-metallic mineral products, printing at reproduction ng recorded media, wood, bamboo, cane, paper at paper products, rubber at plastic, maging ang textiles.
Samantala, lumago rin ang volume of production index (VoPI) ng 8.1% sa 7.7% na naitala noong Abril, at 0.6% noong Mayo 2022.
“The expansion in the annual growth of VoPI in May 2023 was mainly contributed by the annual upturn in manufacture of electrical equipment with 53.7 percent during the period from 19.2 percent in April 2023,” sinabi ng PSA.
Ayon sa PSA, ang iba pang industry division na lumago sa naturang buwan ay ang manufacturing ng transport equipment, food products, coke at refined petroleum products, basic metals, manufacturing and repair at installation ng machinery at equipment, beverages, printing at reproduction ng recorded media, non-metallic mineral products, wood at bamboo, at textiles.
