MANILA, Philippines – Opsyonal na ang pagsusuot ng face mask para sa mga kaparian at mananampalataya sa mga misa sa mga simbahan sa ilalim ng Archdiocese of Manila.
Sa Circular 2023-61, na nilagdaan ni Manila Archbishop Cardinal Jose Advincula, na may petsang Agosto 10, opsyonal na ang pagsusuot ng facemask ng publiko na dumadalo sa Eucharistic celebration.
“In liturgical celebrations done outside the parish church (e.g., anointing of the sick and confession during home/sick visitation), the priest must keenly observe and properly discern when to observe safety measures for the sake of others and oneself,” ayon sa Archdiocese.
Hinimok ng Cardinal na ipagpatuloy na magbigay ng alcohol dispenser para sa hand sanitation.
“Let us continue to make available the alcohol dispensers in our parish churches and venues of celebrations, transactions, meetings, and activities,” saad sa circular.
“We encourage everyone to make it a habit to sanitize hands before, during, and after every church activity or whenever necessary. Ministers of communion will continue to practice sanitizing their hands before distributing communion to the faithful.”
Sa pagtanggap ng Banal na Komunyon, sinabi ni Advincula, ang mga mananampalataya ay maaaring tumanggap ng ostiya sa dila man o sa kamay.
“The faithful may receive communion “either on the tongue or in the hand, at the discretion of each communicant,” sabi ng Cardinal.
Inilabas ang circular matapos alisin ng Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa pamamagitan ng Proclamation 297 na may petsang Hulyo 21, ang state of public health emergency sa bansa dahil na rin sa patuloy na pagbaba ng kaso ng COVID-19. Jocelyn Tabangcura-Domenden
