MANILA, Philippines- Kabilang ang mga Pilipino sa “most favored visitors” sa Taiwan dahil hindi sila nagtitipid kapag bumibiyahe, ayon saTaipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) sa Manila nitong Biyernes.
Inihayag ito ni TECO Representative Peiyung Hsu at inimbitahan ang mga Pilipino na bumisita sa Taiwan at samantalahin ang visa-free entry scheme sa muling pagbubukas ng border nito sa ibang bansa.
“As Taiwan has reinstated the 14-day visa-free program for Filipinos until July 31, 2023, I hope to see more Filipino friends explore the beauty of Taiwan,” pahayag niya sa isang tourism workshop sa Pasay. “Among all ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries, you are the most welcome because you spend.”
Muling ikinasa ang visa-free entry scheme para sa mga Pilipino noong September 2022 at nakatakda para sa reevaluation para sa extension bago matapos ang July 2023.
Samantala, umaasa rin si Hsu na papayagan din ng Manila ang parehong visa-free privilege sa Taiwan.
“We also wish for the Philippine government to grant Taiwanese visitors visa-free (entry to the country). Now, we pay for the visa, so that’s why let’s cover these tourists coming to the Philippines,” aniya. RNT/SA
