MANILA, Philippines – Ipinanawagan ni Speaker Martin Romualdez nitong Biyernes, Pebrero 10 sa Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) na isulong ang no-placement fee policy para sa mga Filipinos na naghahanap ng trabaho sa Japan.
Ito ang sinabi ni Romualdez matapos na mangako ang mga Japanese companies at employer na magpapasok pa sila ng mas maraming Filipino.
“I hope that the DMW can engage the recruitment industry and Japanese employers on how to make Japan a 100-percent no placement fee labor market,” aniya.
Sinabi pa ni Romualdez na sakop ng kanyang proposal ang mga seafarer, professionals at non-skilled workers.
“We are happy to hear directly from our OFWs in Japan on how much they are valued by their employers, and vice-versa,” aniya.
Sa kabila na ang mga trainees sa ilalim ng Technical Internship Training Program at specified skilled workers ay hindi na kailangan pang magbayad ng placement fees, “there are Filipino job seekers who fall outside these categories that are being asked to pay, such as professionals and highly skilled workers.”
Si Romualdez ay bahagi ng delegasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na nasa Tokyo, Japan ngayon para sa working visit.
Kasama rin dito si DMW Secretary Susan “Toots” Ople.
Nanawagan naman si Romualdez sa mga Filipino workers sa Japan at mga aplikante sa Maynila na isumbong ang sobra-sobra o illegal na bayad, sa DMW at iba pang opisina nito sa Osaka at Tokyo, Japan.
“Congress will work with DMW in strengthening existing laws and regulations to enable the government to run after and punish those who collect illegal fees,” aniya. RNT/JGC
