MANILA, Philippines- Inatasan ng Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) ang mga opisyal nito na sundin o tumalima sa rekomendasyon ng Commission on Audit (COA) matapos na iulat nito ang unliquidated funds na nagkakahalaga ng P50.6 milyon.
Sinabi ng OPAPRU na ang mga kaso ay naisampa na at may kaugnayan sa unliquidated cash advances, na inirekomenda rin ng COA.
“Following COA’s directives, a bulk of unliquidated cash advances since 2015 carried over from the previous administrations amounting to P38.6 million have led to the filing of cases with the Office of the Ombudsman,” ayon sa OPAPRU.
“These have been filed against former officials and employees who are no longer connected with the agency,” dagdag na wika ng OPAPRU.
Ang ahensiya, dating kilala bilang Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), ay naghayag na ang isang empleyado ay sinibak sa trabaho habang karamihan sa mga kaso ay naghihintay ng resolusyon.
Tinuran pa ng OPAPRU na nagpataw na rin sila ng salary deduction sa mga may pananagutan na special disbursing officers (SDOs).
Sa kabilang dako, kumpiyansa naman ang OPAPRU na mapa-plantsa nito ang usapin bago matapos ang taon.
“As of August 2023, P8.6 million or 72% of the P12-million unliquidated cash advances has already been liquidated with a P3.4 million or 28% remaining balance. Based on the current actions being taken, the OPAPRU is positive it will be able to close by year end the pending unliquidated cash advances,” ayon sa OPAPRU.
“The OPAPRU remains committed to applying the best accounting practices while enforcing its mandate of pushing forward the comprehensive Philippine peace process,” dagdag na pahayag nito. Kris Jose
