Operasyon ng Chocolate Hills resort ipinahinto ng DENR

MANILA, Philippines – Nag-isyu na ng cease and desist order (CDO) ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) laban sa kontrobersyal na resort na nag-ooperate sa Chocolate Hills protected area sa Bohol.

Ayon kay DENR Undersecretary for Field Operations Juan Miguel Cuna, ang CDO ay inisyu noong Marso 14, kung saan inilagay ang Captain’s Peak Garden and Resort sa close monitoring ng ahensya upang masiguro na hindi makakapagbukas ang resort.

“The regional executive director of Region 7 and the regional director of EMB (Environmental Management Bureau) Region 7 issued a joint cease and desist order to the establishment to ensure that they are no longer operating,” ani Cuna sa press conference.

“That is where we are right now, and we are closely monitoring the Captain’s Peak to ensure that they remain closed and not open for operations,” dagdag pa niya.

Ito ay kasunod ng Temporary Closure Order (TCO) na inilabas noong Setyembre 6, 2023 at halos tatlong buwan matapos din itong isyuhan ng notice of violation noong Enero 22 laban sa resort. RNT/JGC
