OUTSTANDING ‘BATANG KANKALOO’ HONORED ON CITYHOOD DAY

CALOOCAN Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan led other key local officials in honoring outstanding “Batang Kankaloo” for their contribution to the city’s progress and development.

Capping off the celebration of its 62nd Cityhood Anniversary, the city government conducted the 2024 Outstanding Citizens Awards (OCA) Night at the Caloocan City Sports Center.

Various personalities and organizations were recognized with different awards, including early bird taxpayers, outstanding employees and barangay, special awards for contributions in varying sectors, and the most coveted six Pillars Awards for Entrepreneurship, Health, Public Service, Education, Peace and Order, and Good Governance.

The mayor was all praises for those who received the awards as he expressed gratitude for their commitment and dedication in helping the city government provide the best kind of services to its constituents.

The local chief executive likewise hoped that the awardees would continue to be partners of the city for its progressive development.

”Rest assured that my administration will be consistent in ensuring the quality of the programs and projects provided to the general public,” said the son of former mayor and now District 1 Rep. Oscar “Oca” Malapitan.

“Let this recognition be a symbol of your renewed commitment to your advocacies and to our city. In return, I vow to make sure that all our services, programs and projects will be realized sooner rather than later,” the younger Malapitan added.

As part of the cityhood celebration, the mayor turned over a total of 30 new motorcycles and eight mobile patrol vehicles aimed at strengthening patrol operations of both the Caloocan City Police Station and the Public Safety and Traffic Management Department.

The PSTMD was also provided with 80 sets of body cameras which they could use during daily traffic operations especially in interactions and contact apprehension of erring motorists.

City chief of police PCol Ruben Lacuesta thanked the mayor for continuously providing the local police with all its logistical needs and other forms of assistance and benefits to its personnel.

”With the all-out support we get from Mayor Malapitan and the city government, our lawmen have no other reason not to carry out their job efficiently and with dispatch.”
