MANILA, Philippines – Nilinaw ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) na ang proposed P1 rush hour fare increase ng ilang transport groups ay isinantabi lamang, at hindi tuluyang ibinasura.
Ayon sa LTFRB, kasalukuyan nilang pinag-aaralan ang petisyon para sa P2 fare increase sa mga jeepney dahil sa patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng mga produktong petrolyo.
“We would like to clarify that the first petition filed by some transport groups regarding the P1 rush hour fare hike has not been rejected but rather set aside right after a new petition for a P2 fare increase was filed,” sinabi ng ahensya.
“The LTFRB Board will still, however, resolve the first petition while prioritizing the most recent one filed due to oil price hike,” dagdag pa nito.
Kabilang sa mga grupong nagpasa ng liham na humihiling ng P2 fare hike ay ang Liga ng Transportasyon at Operators sa Pilipinas (LTOP), Pagkakaisa ng mga Tsuper at Operators Nationwide (Piston), Stop & Go Transport Coalition Inc., at Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines (Fejodap).
