MANILA, Philippines – Binuksan ng Alaska Milk Corp (AMC) at katuwang nito na waste management firm na D&G Pacific Corp ang nasa P45-million MLP ( multi-layered plastic ) Upcycling Facility sa Antipolo.
Ayon sa AMC, ang pasilidad na ito sa Antipolo ay kauna-unahan sa Pilipinas at maging sa Southeast Asia.
Sa ilalim ng isang upcycling facility, magagamit pa sa ibang paraan ang mga gamit nang single-use plastic at mga card board.
“As a responsible producer of plastics used in the packaging of our products, Alaska Milk is devoted to recovering not just the same amount but even more volume of plastics we release in the market,” pahayag ng kompanya.
“In the fast-paced society where we live in which plastics have become ubiquitous in our day-to-day living, strategic upcycling techniques and processes like these are a must and need to be expanded,” dagdag pa.
“The panels are completely recycled and do not use chemicals or additives during manufacturing, ensuring that the product is recyclable, termite-proof, and water resistant,” pagpapatuloy pa ng kompanya.
Dahil dito, inaasahan na magagamit pa ng hanggang walong beses kumpara sa dating dalawa hanggang tatlong beses lamang na gamit, ang tipikal na plywood o phenolic boards.
Ang inauguration na ito ng upcycling facility sa Antipolo ay paraan na rin umano para makaimbita ng iba pang nais mamuhunan sa ganitong pamamaraan. RNT/JGC
