MANILA, Philippines – PINALALAKAS ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) ang regulatory function nito.
Muling inulit ang plano na isapribado ang self-operated casinos nito.
“By focusing on its regulatory functions, PAGCOR will be able to avoid the complexities of running two different shows,” ayon kay PAGCOR chairman at CEO Alejandro Tengco sa isang kalatas.
“It can also streamline its processes and create more revenues that will fund more high-impact government projects,” dagdag na wika ni Tengco.
Nauna nang napaulat na plano ng Pagcor na isapribado na lamang ang mga self-operated casinos nito.
Isinaalang-alang kasi nila ang kapakanan ng mga empleyadong maapektuhan.
Sa ilalim ng kanilang mandato, nagreregulate ang PAGCOR sa gaming industry at mag-generate ng mga revenues para sa mga socio-civic at national development ng gobyerno bukod pa dito ang promosyon ng turismo.
“The government-run firm has been the subject of scrutiny by key decision-makers and major gaming industry players due to its dual role as an operator and regulator, ” ayon kay Tengco.
Aniya pa rin, sa bagong liderato ng PAGCOR, nasimulan na nito na palakasin ang kanilang regulatory function at na-promote na ang privatization ng Casino Filipino facilities.
Sinasabing, kumita ang PAGCOR ng P58.96 billion noong 2022, tumaas ng 66.16% mula P35.48 billion noong 2021.
Para labanan ang paglaganap ng illegal gambling sa bansa, sinabi ni Tengco na patuloy na makikipagtulungan ang ahensiya sa iba’t ibang law enforcement agencies.
“We shall undertake this painstaking process to weed out the unscrupulous companies and individuals using the PAGCOR license for illegal activities, tainting the name of the whole industry and most especially the Philippines,” ayon kay Tengco. Kris Jose
