MANILA, Philippines – Tinitingnan pa ng Philippine Embassy sa Tel Aviv ang “unconfirmed reports” na ilang Filipino umano sa Israel ang dinukot sa kasagsagan ng bakbakan sa pagitan ng Israeli troops at grupong Hamas.
Ayon sa embahada, kasalukuyan pa nilang biniberipika ang ulat.
“As for the Agrostudies students, the person in charge said they have received no reports of kidnapping so far. All are accounted for,” dagdag pa nito.
“We are, however, continuing to monitor the situation. We have asked the authorities to secure them.”
Samantala, nanawagan si Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva sa Department of Foreign Affairs at Department of Migrant Workers na siguruhing mabibigyan ng tulong ang mga Filipino na naninirahan sa Israel.
Ang panawagan ay kasabay ng nagpapatuloy na krisis sa nasabing bansa, na sinimulan ng matitinding pag-atake sa ilang lugar sa Israel nitong Sabado ng umaga.
Kinondena rin ng senador ang “senseless attacks of Hamas on Israel.”
“Violence has no place in this world and there is certainly no excuse that can justify these inhumane attacks. This kind of violence must end. We stand in solidarity and offer our prayers to the people of Israel during this challenging time,” giit ni Villanueva. RNT/JGC
