MANILA, Philippines- Inumpisahan ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) ang pag-isyu ng electronic driver’s license (eDL), na anito ay valid kagaya ng physical driver’s license.
Ito ay sa gitna ng patuloy na problema sa pag-imprenta ng driver’s license dahil sa kakulangan ng plastic cards na naiulat na dulot ng bidding policy change sa Department of Transportation.
Inihayag ni LTO officer-in-charge Hector Villacorta na nailabas na ang implementing guidelines para sa pag-isyu ng eDLs matapos ang masusing pag-aaral sa seguridad ng digital version ng lisensya.
Nag-umpisa ang paglalabas ng eDLs nitong Miyerkules, at maaari nang ma-access sa Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) account ng driver’s license holders.
“The eDL is a valid, secure, and an alternative form of authorization for persons operating motor vehicles. We are launching this as part of the agency’s digitalization. The eDL will also ensure efficiency in our service,” pahayag ni Villacorta.
Sa ilalim ng LTO Memorandum Circular No. HAV-2023-2410, bibigyan ng access ang holders ng valid Driver’s Licenses mula sa LTO sa eDL module.
Sinabi ni Villacorta na pareho ang pribilehiyo at responsibilidad para sa eDLs sa physical driver’s license.
“Apprehended motorists who must present the eDL only by accessing their LTMS portal account, while those who fail or refuse to present their eDL will be considered a violation of failure to carry a driver’s license,” paliwanag ni Villacorta. RNT/SA
