MANILA, Philippines- Kinuwestiyon ng militant youth group Anakbayan ang pagtatalaga kay Ted Herbosa bilang bagong kalihim ng Department of Health (DOH).
“Herbosa has shown a little to no regard for human rights, engaged in red-tagging and corruption,” pahayag ni Anakbayan spokesperson Kate Almenzo.
Inilahad niya ang tweet ni Herbosa kung saan binanggit ang pahayag ng Anakbayan tungkol sa “Montalban bombing” kung saan tumugon siya sa pamamagitan ng “redtagging” sa organisasyon.
“The DOH should be an institution dedicated to the well-being and protection of the people, and Herbosa’s appointment undermines this principle,” dagdag niya.
Inihayag din ni Almenzo ang “misinformation” na ipinakalat umano ni Herbosa sa kasagsagan ng pandemya.
“Herbosa is not only a vicious red-tagger, but a malicious fake news peddler as well!” giit niya.
“Kung alalahanin natin, DOH din mismo ang nag debunk sa pinost niyang graphics na may three stages daw ang COVID-19. Ngayon, is he really fit to be the DOH Secretary?” ayon pa kay Almenzo.
“We cannot afford to have a Secretary who undermines public trust and hampers the dissemination of accurate information!” patuloy niya.
Kinondena rin ng Anakbayan ang DOH at sinabing, “The DOH, as a department responsible for promoting health and well-being, should not tolerate the presence of a staff member who disseminates information that puts the lives of Filipinos at risk.” RNT/SA
