MANILA, Philippines- Inihayag ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) na nakatakdang makumpleto ang privatization ng state-run casinos sa sunod na dalawang taon.
Sinabi ni Alejandro H. Tengco, Pagcor chairman at chief executive officer, na kasalukuyang sumasailalim ang ahensya sa transisyon tungo sa pagigigng regulatory body, na kakalusin na ang kasalukuyang dual role nito bilang operator at regulator.
Inaasahan ni Tengco na maisasapinal ang proseso sa 2025, sa layuning i-lebel ang “playing field and ensure future growth and viability for all gaming industry players.”
“We have started preparing for this transition in earnest, and we are starting where it matters most – within Pagcor itself,” ani Tengco sa forum kamakailan sa Manila.
Binigayng-diin niya na bilang organisasyon na may apat na dekadang karanasan, alam ng Pagcor ang mga kalakasan at limitasyon nito.
“We certainly know our potentials and capability to become the gold standard in the Asian gaming scene,” giit ng Pagcor chief.
Samantala, tiniyak ni Tengco na pinagpaplanuhan nila ang magiging epekto ng privatization sa mga tauhan nito.
“We tell them there is no reason to worry because we have plans in place to mitigate, if not totally avoid, any personnel displacement,” aniya.
“You will be surprised to know how people react to our plans, and how they express their trust in our process,” dagdag ng opisyal.
Gayundin sinabi niya na binabalak ng Pagcor ang modernisasyon ng casinos nito na naglalayon na makahikayat ng mas maraming player at potential buyers. RNT/SA
