Palasyo nirerespeto ng Senado sa pagmamadali nito sa MIF

MANILA, Philippines – Nirerespeto ng Senado sa pagsesertipika ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. bilang urgent ang Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF) bill.

Ayon kay Senador Sonny Angara nitong Martes, Mayo 16, naghihintay na lamang ang Senado ng desisyon ng Korte Suprema sa petisyon na kumikwestyon sa mabilis na pagpasa ng panukala sa Kamara ng bersyon nito ng MIF bill noong Disyembre.

“Anything that the Supreme Court says we’ll have to abide by that but on this issue of certification of urgency, we take the certification of the Palace at face value. If they say it’s urgent, they are the Executive branch so we have to give respect to that certification,” pagbabahagi ni Angara sa panayam ng ANC.

Ani Angara, ang Senado at Malakanyang ay may “give and take” partnership lalo na’t ang mga senador ay may kani-kaniya ring priority bill na kailangang pirmahan para maging batas.

Sa kabila nito, maglalaan pa rin ng oras ang Senado para busisiin ang MIF bill.

“We’ve begun discussions on the bill and I think the committee report reported out by Committee on Banks chair Senator Mark Villar is an improvement on the initial versions of the bill. I think, we’re getting a clearer idea of what is the goal, what are the limitations, what are the powers of this,” aniya.
