MANILA, Philippines- Sinabi ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) na posibleng patawan ng legal charges ang mga kandidato na tatakbo sa October 2023 “Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections” (BSKE) na suportado ng “communist terrorist group” (CTG) at front organizations nito.
Ito ang babala ni Regional Task Force-ELCAC 6 spokesperson Prosecutor Flosemer Gonzales.
Sinabi ni National Youth Commission (NYC) chair Undersecretary Ronald Cardema, dumalo sa nasabing event, nakikipag-ugnayan na ang kanilang regional offices kay Office of Vice President (OVP) at kasalukuyang Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sara Duterte na mahigpit na i-monitor ang mga eskuwelahan lalo na iyong “vulnerable” sa recruitment activities ng CTG front organizations.
Nauna nang itinalaga si Duterte bilang co-vice chairperson ng NTF-ELCAC kasama si National Security Adviser (NSA) Secretary Eduardo Año.
Ang NTF-ELCAC ay pinangungunahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
Kapwa naman dismayado sina Gonzales at Cardema sa nabanggit ng una na “from books to armalite” bansag sa recruitment ng mga grupong ito sa hanay ng mga estudyante at maging sa out-of-school youth (OSY) sector na nag-promote ng armed violence at madugong pagpapabagsak sa gobyerno.
Umapela naman ang mga ito sa mga school administrators at guro na huwag tulungan ang recruitment activities ng grupong gaya ng Anakbayan, the underground Kabataang Makabayan (KM), Gabriela, Anakpawis, at iba pa dahil “they too are not immune from legal suit.”
“To teachers, especially school administrators, who teach our students to bear arms, you are criminally liable. We will do anything to file charges against you,” ayon kay Gonzales.
Suportado naman ni Cardema ang posisyon ni Gonzales. Binigyang diin ni Cardema ang pangangailangan para mapigilan ang mga fronts mula sa pagsasagawa ng recruitment activities sa hanay ng mga estudyante para suportahan ang SK candidates na iba-bankroll ng CTGs.
“All areas are being monitored through our regional NYC offices. Even the teachers’ ranks, they should be monitored. Teachers serve as advisers of these students. If we can stop all these recruitment activities, the NPA will die down naturally. Why? Because they can’t recruit senior citizens to become terrorists,” ayon kay Cardema.
Tinuran naman ni Gonzales na ang papel ng Vice President ay mahalaga para hadlangan ang NPA recruitment sa mga eskuwelahan.
“They (fronts) will not succeed in our schools through the help of the Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte,” ani Gonzales sabay sabing “critical thinking” ay hindi dapat ginagamit bilang excuse para payagan ang mga estudyante na maka-ugnayan ang CTG fronts.
Para naman kay Cardema, minsan ng umamin na isa siyang KM recruit mula UP-Diliman, sinamantala ng CPP-NPA-NDF fronts ang “idealism” ng mga estudyante na ni-recruit ang mga ito bilang New People’s Army fighters.
“Our focus now is to fight youth recruitment in schools and communities by the NPA. It’s time to prevent this for the sake of nation building,” ani Cardema sabay tukoy sa “Youth and National Building Act” na iniakda ni Pangulong Marcos noong siya ay mambabatas pa lamang.
“The battle will also continue in Congress wherein remnants of the Makabayan bloc continue their lies and deceptions,” anito.
“Through the NTF-ELCAC, we’re able to reduce their number. Noon ay walo sila hanggang sa naging anim. Ngayon, tatlo na lang sila,” dagdag na pahayag nito. Kris Jose
