MANILA, Philippines – PLANO ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. na bumiyahe patungo sa tatlong destinasyon sa Estados Unidos sa Nobyembre para makita at makapulong ang mga ‘Filipino expatriates’ sa sidelines ng Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.
Sinabi ni Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel Romualdez na lilipad ang Pangulo sa San Francisco para dumalo sa annual APEC Summit, bago pa siya bumiyahe patungong Hawaii, at sa Los Angeles o Seattle.
“The Summit will actually start on November 15 up to the 18th, and then the President plans to visit another city on the West Coast, and then from there possibly go to other — maybe, we’re still trying to work out a short stay, a short visit to Honolulu,” ang sinabi ni Romualdez sa mga mamamahayag sa sidelines ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit doon.
“There’s a large Filipino community there, but all of these schedules are being worked out,” dagdag na wika ni Romualdez.
Hindi naman binanggit ni Romualdez kung bibisitahin din ni Pangulong Marcos ang mga Filipino na apektado ng wildfires sa Hawaii.
Inaasahan naman aniya na maglalaan ng oras si Pangulong Marcos para “have a lot of meetings with potential investors.”
“Whenever he goes, especially to the United States, there’s a lot of interest, really, now in the Philippines, from many companies,” ayon kay Romualdez.
Ang Silicon Valley, ay kinonsidera bilang tech hub ng “largest economy” sa buong mundo, inaasahan na makakasama sa US itinerary ni Pangulong Marcos dahil may ilang tech companies “are very eager to meet with him,” ayon kay Romualdez.
“There’s also quite a number of requests from financial institutions. There are also companies in the manufacturing business in the West Coast, and probably a follow-up on the modular nuclear power plants that we’ve been talking about, and a number of companies that are based in the West Coast,” aniya pa rin, hindi naman nagbanggit ng pangalan ng kompanya na kanyang tinutukoy.
Samantala, ang nakatakdang byahe ng Pangulo sa Estados Unidos sa Nobyembre ay pangatlo na niyang pagbisita sa nasabing bansa bilang halal ng Pangulo ng Pilipinas.
Bumiyahe ito patungong New York noong 2022 para sa United Nations General Assembly, at Washington D.C. nito lamang unang bahagi ng taong kasalukuyan para sa kanyang opisyal na pagbisita. Kris Jose
