MANILA, Philippines- Tinitingnan ngayon ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ang pagpapadala ng team para tumulong sa search and rescue operations sa lumubog na Chinese fishing vessel malapit sa Maldives o sa bahagi ng Indian ocean.
Ayon sa PCG, mahigpit nilang sinusundan ang development sa insidente na kinasasangkutan ng fishing vessel Lu Peng Yuan Yu 028.
“The PCG Command Center is monitoring the incident and coordinating with the PCG SAR [search and rescue] teams near the last known location of the said Chinese fishing vessel for possible assistance,” ayon sa PCG.
Sa ulat, alas-3 ng madaling araw nitong Martes nang lumubog ang fishing vessel sakay ang 39 crew kabilang ang limang Filipino, 17 Chinese, at 17 Indonesians.
Nakipag-ugnayan na rin ang PCG sa Chinese Embassy upang makuha ang buong detalye ng maritime incident.
“As reported, 4 vessels and three aircrafts are conducting search and rescue operations. The target are two liferafts allegedly carrying the crew. Rough weather condition prevailing in the area of SAR operations,” ayon naman kay PCG spokesperson Commodore Armand Balilo.
Kabilang aniya sa apat na sasakyang-dagat ang tatlong cargo vessel at isang fishing boat na nagsasagawa ng SAR operations .
Ayon pa kay Balilo, lumubog ang fishing vessel sa lokasyong 2900 miles Northwest ng Australia. Jocelyn Tabangcura-Domenden
