MANILA, Philippines- Iginiit ni Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Garafil nitong Lunes na walang troll farms o armies ang administrasyong Marcos.
“For the record, Mr. Chair, wala po kaming troll. No troll farm, no troll army,” ani Garafil sa Senate committee on finance hearing sa proposed P1.79 billion budget ng PCO para sa fiscal year 2024.

“Mr. Chair, mayroon lang po kaming 363 employees sa PCO,” dagdag niya.
Tinanong ni Senator JV Ejercito amng isyu ng troll, at sinabing sa nakaraang administrayon ay may kabuuang 1,479 Palace personnel ang pinaghinalaang trolls na umano’y nagkakalat ng fake news sa social media sites.

Nanindigan naman si Garafil maintained na layunin ng PCO na labanan ang fake news.
“Ang number one priority pa rin namin siyempre communication kay Presidente pero, of course, underlying that is ‘yung nasabi ninyo nga kanina, ‘yung fight against fake news kaya nga po ngayong taon, nag-launch kami ng media information literacy campaign para po matugunan ‘yung problema sa fake news,” aniya.
Lumagda ang PCO sa memorandum of understanding kasama ang iba pang government agencies upang ipatupad ang Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Campaign Project ng administrasyon.
Sinabi ng PCO na ang MIL ay ang “administration’s response to the disinformation and misinformation plaguing the country’s digital landscape, focusing on capacitating the youth to become more discerning consumers of media.” RNT/SA
