MANILA, Philippines- Bumaba ang Philippine automotive unit sales ngayong Hunyo subalit patuloy na nakapagtatala ng double-digit annual increase, batay sa datos ng local manufacturers nitong Martes.
Base sa joint report ng Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) at ng Truck Manufacturers Association (TMI), pumalo ang kabuuang new motor vehicle sales para sa nasabing buwan sa 36,311 units.
Mas mababa ito ng 4.9% kumpara sa 38,177 units na nabenta noong Mayo, subalit mas mataas ng 27.0% kumpara sa 28,601 units na nabenta noong June 2022.
“The auto industry has maintained double-digit positive growth anew by 27% in June — a reflection of improved consumer spending for big-ticket items amidst the significant market for new motor vehicle sales, the main growth anchor of the industry,” pahayag ni CAMPI president Atty. Rommel Gutierrez.
“Rightfully so, demand for motor vehicles that respond to the needs of the customers will yield strong gains for the industry,” dagdag niya.
Ang pinakamataas na bilang ng nabentang units ay naitala sa commercial vehicles sa 27,325 units, sinundan ng light commercial vehicles (LCVs) sa 21,555 units, at passenger cars sa 8,986 units.
Sinundan ito ng Asian utility vehicles (AUVs) sa 4,864 units, light trucks sa 546 units, at mga truck at bus sa 360 units.
Dahil dito, sumampa ang year-to-date sales sa 202,415 units, mas mataas ng 30.7% kumpara sa 154,874 sa parehong period noong 2022.
Base kay Gutierrez, nagpapakita ang year-to-date figure ng “strong signal of sustained optimism” para sa natitirang bahagi ng taon.
“Maintaining this level of growth on a monthly basis, the industry has indeed high hopes of achieving or even exceeding its sales target for this year,” aniya.
Nauna nang inihayag ng manufacturers na kumpiyansa sila na makapagtatala ng 10% hanggang 15% growth ngayong taon mula sa 352,596 units na naibenta sa nakalipas na taon. RNT/SA
