MANILA, Philippines – APRUBADO ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., ang estratehiya ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) na mapahusay ang food logistics sa Pilipinas.
Ayon sa Presidential Communications Office (PCO), tinalakay ng Pangulo ang plano sa isang pulong sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang kasama ang mga opisyal ng DTI, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Information and Cimmunication Technology (DICT) at iba pa.
“President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., approved on Tuesday the Department of Trade and Industry’s Three-year Food Logistics Action Agenda aimed at revolutionizing the country’s food distribution system, reducing transport and logistics costs, and ensuring food supply chain efficiency,” ayon sa PCO sa isang kalatas.
Sinabi ng PCO na ang pangunahing layunin ng plano ay tiyakin na ang pagkain ay mananatiling available at abot-kaya ng mga Filipino.
Tugon ito sa naging kautusan ni Pangulong Marcos noong Setyembre 2022 na palakasin ang “food logistics chain, cold chain industry, ports infrastructure at farm-to-market roads.”
“The Three-Year Food Logistics Action Agenda contains six key strategies to ensure success. These include revolutionizing the Philippines’ food distribution system, reducing transport and logistic costs, increasing investments in logistics infrastructure on transportation and storage, and addressing other supply chain gaps,” ayon pa rin sa PCO.
Kabilang naman sa plano ang paggamit ng food terminals at hubs sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa.
“Food terminals are specific locations with standardized logistical processes and transportation systems to shorten the supply chain between producers and consumers,” aniya pa rin.
“These hubs operate as central command centers for effectively supervising the balance between demand and supply with the resulting synergy within these hubs amplifying the effectiveness of the action plan,” ang paliwang ng PCO.
