MANILA, Philippines – Nagsagawa ng surprise drug testing ang Philippine National Police (PNP) sa mga top officials nito.
Pinangunahan ni PNP chief Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr. ang mga opisyal sa pagsasagawa ng drug testing sa PNP National Headquarters sa Camp Crame, Quezon City nitong Biyernes, Setyembre 15, sinabi nitong Linggo.
Ang unannounced on-the-spot drug testing ay bahagi ng command conference na dinaluhan ng 89 top-level officials mula sa PNP Command Group, Directorial Staff, Regional Directors, at National Support Unit Directors.
Ani Acorda, hindi lamang tinutukoy ng drug testing ang ‘fitness’ ng PNP commanders kundi maging ang commitment ng pwersa ng pulisya sa integrity enhancement at cleansing sa mga ranggo nito, partikular na sa mga nasa command positions.
“This surprise drug test underscores the PNP’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct among its members. It also serves as a clear message that the organization is resolute in its efforts to combat illegal drugs and ensure the integrity of its leadership,” ani Acorda.
Nakakuha naman ng negatibong resulta ang drug test ng lahat ng opisyal, na isinagawa ng PNP Forensic Group. RNT/JGC
