MANILA, Philippines – Tiniyak ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez na mapopondohan ang mga specialty center na ilalagay sa mga regional hospitals kasunod ng paglagda ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr sa Republic Act (RA) No. 11959, o Regional Specialty Centers Act.
Ayon kay Romualdez, kanilang bubusisiin ang 2024 budget upang masiguro na may nakalaang pondo para sa pagpapatupad ng RA 11959 at inatasan na niya ang House Committee on Appropriations na pangasiwaan ito.
“In any case, we in the House will ensure that the necessary initial appropriations are allocated for the implementation of the law and the setting up, equipping and staffing of the special medical care units in regional hospitals,” pahayag ni Romualdez.
Samantala, pinuri ni Romualdez si Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang paglagda sa bagong batas.
“Once these special care facilities are established, people in the provinces, in rural areas, no longer need to travel to Metro Manila to receive specialized treatment and care. They will be spending less for transportation and other related costs. We are bringing the centers closer to our people,” paliwanag nito.
Sa kasalukuyan, ang specialty hospitals na Heart Center, Kidney Center, Lung Center, Children’s Medical Center, at Orthopedic Hospital – ay matatagpuan lahat sa Metro Manila at sa pamamagitan ng bagong batas ay kahalintulad na specialty hospitals ang itatayo sa mga rehiyon. Gail Mendoza
