MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) nitong Miyerkules, Oktubre 18 na nakapagpo-produce na sila ng isang milyong plaka kada buwan.
Dahil dito, nagpahayag ng kumpiyansa si LTO chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II na masosolusyunan na ng ahensya ang 80,000 backlog nito para sa motor vehicles license plates sa pagtatapos ng Nobyembre.
“We are now producing one million plates a month. We have dedicated machines that cater only to motor vehicles, and of course, focus din ang production para sa mas maraming backlog sa plaka ng motorsiklo,” saad sa pahayag.
Ani Mendoza, ang increased production rate ay naggagarantiya na may magiging available license plates sa mga bagong biling sasakyan, at kaya nilang ma-wipe out ang backlog sa mga sasakyan pagsapit ng 2025.
“I have instructed all District Offices, Regional Directors that we should be able to cater to the current demand as far as motor vehicles are concerned,” sinabi ni Mendoza.
Batay sa pagtaya ng LTO, ang kasalukuyang demand para sa motor vehicle plates ay nasa 2,000 plaka kada araw.
“So times two dahil front and back ang plaka, so it’s 4,000 a day. We have that capacity, there’s no reason why a buyer who comes to you now will have to wait months in order to get their plates,” dagdag ni Mendoza.
Nagtakda ang LTO ng bagong target sa mga may-ari ng sasakyan na matatanggap nila ang bagong plaka pito hanggang 10 araw matapos na maipasa ang lahat ng kailangang dokumento.
Sa patuloy na demand sa mga plaka, sinabi pa ni Mendoza na walong machine na ang ginagamit nila para mapabilis ang produksyon ng mahigit 15 milyong license plates, kung saan 13 milyon ang para sa motorsiklo.
Samantala, tinitingnan din ang partnership sa automotive dealers associations upang resolbahin ang iba pang isyu sa license plate backlogs, delay sa OR/CR at accreditation issues.
“I’d like to sit down with [Philippine Automotive Dealers Association] and discuss the problems in your head on how we can help you dig that and address those problems, how to make things faster and more efficient as far as registration of vehicles is concerned,” pahayag ni Mendoza sa speech kasabay ng 5th General Assembly ng Philippine Automotive Dealers Association.
