MANILA, Philippines – Target ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) na palawakin pa ang protected bike lanes network sa 2,400 kilometro hanggang sa 2028.
Sa ngayon, nasa 564 kilometro na ng protected bike lanes ang nailagay sa Metro Cebu, Metro Manila at Metro Davao.
Ang anunsyong ito ng ahensya ay kasabay ng pagdiriwang ng Road Safety Month upang paigtingin ang road safety at awareness sa health impact at economic costs dito.
“As we rethink mobility and shift our focus on the most vulnerable road users, the call for responsibility and accountability on the road is further reiterated,” ayon sa DOTR.
“Everyone is also enjoined that all road users, particularly those who are most at risk, deserve uncompromised safety on the road.”
