Tuluyan nang lumusot sa Senado ang panukalang batas na magbibigay ng proteksiyon sa consumer at matiyak na ligtas ang kanilang digital transaction laban sa online scammers na nambibiktima ng netizens.
Inihayag ito ni Senador Mark Villar matapos aprubahan sa ikalawang pagbasa ang Senate Bill No. 1846 o mas kikilalanin bilang Internet Transactions Act of 2023, matapos ang period of individual amendments.
“Through our successful collaboration with other senators, the amendments presented and adopted to the Internet Transactions Act ensures the utmost safeguard for both the consumers and merchants engaged in digital transactions,” ayon kay Mark Villar.
Tinitindigan ni Mark Villar ang paniniwala na magbibigay ang Internet Transactions Act ng ligtas na mekanismo sa lahat ng stakeholdes na sangkot sa e-commerce.
“The bill highlights the regulation of e-commerce transactions between digital platforms or e-marketplaces and consumers. This bill also outlines the subsidiary liability of the online merchant or retailer, should it fail to fulfill its responsibilities, as laid down by the bill, to aggrieved consumers,” paliwanag ni Mark Villar.
“Sa pamamagitan ng ITA, mabibigyan natin ng assurance ang mga users at retailers na sila ay mayroon ng proteksyon laban sa online scams,” giit pa ng senador.
Umaasa si Mark Villar na kapag naisabagtas ang Internet Transactions Act as he believes malaki ang maitutulong nito hindi lamang sa reglasyon ng f e-commerce transactions kundi maging kagalingan ng consumers.
“The success of the recent session on the amendments of the bill shows the dedication of our senators in ensuring that it passes into law. Hopefully, we see through the process successfully. Ito ay magiging malaking tulong para sa mga consumers, lalo na sa mga biktima ng mga e-commerce scams and fraud transactions,” ayon kay Mark Villar.
“Through the ITA, masisigurado na natin na walang lugar ang mga scammers sa bagong Pilipinas!” dagdag ng senador.
Sakaling maisabagtas, magsisilbing regulatory framework ang Internet Transactions Act of 2023 sa legal na usapin sa online scam at magbibigay ng ligtas na pamamaraan sa consumer at merchants na lumalahok sa digital transactions. Ernie Reyes
