MANILA, Philippines – Kasunod ng kabi-kabilang pagdeklara sa drag artist na si Amadeus Fernando Pagente o kilala bilang Pura Luka Vega, na persona non grata sa iba’t ibang lugar, sumunod na rin dito ang Lucena City, Quezon at Bohol.
Sa pahayag nitong Martes, Agosto 22, Lucena City Councilor Benito Brizuela Jr., inanunsyo nito ang deklarasyon kay Pagente bilang persona non grata sa resolusyong pare-parehong inaprubahan ng city legislative council.
“With the support of the Sanggunian, we have successfully passed the resolution declaring Amadeus Fernando Pagente, aka Pura Luka Vega, as persona non grata in the City of Lucena,” sinabi ni Brizuela.
Sa kanyang privileged speech bago ipasa ang resolusyon, sinabi ni Brizuela na ang controversial performance ni Vega ay napanood ng milyon-milyong Filipino kabilang ang mga bata na may access sa social media.
Ipinaliwanag niya na ang deklarasyon kay Pagente bilang persona non grata sa lungsod ay kanilang paraan “to educate everyone that this is not okay.”
“This is disrespectful, blasphemous, and shouldn’t be done by anyone regardless of what religion they might be talking about,” giit niya.
Samantala, nitong Martes din ay inanunsyo ni Bohol Vice Governor Dionisio VIctor Balite na idineklara na ring persona non grata ang drag artista sa probinsya dahil sa kontrobersyal nitong “Ama Namin” rendition suot pa ang tila kasuotan ng Poong Itim na Nazareno.
“The portrayal of religious figures in a manner that is disrespectful or offensive to the religious sentiments of individuals and communities is not conducive to promoting harmony and mutual respect within our society,” saad sa resolusyon.
Maliban sa dalawang lugar, persona non grata na rin si Pura sa Floridablanca, Pampanga; Toboso, Negros Occidental, General Santos City, Maynila, Bukidnon, Laguna at Cagayan de Oro. RNT/JGC
