MANILA, Philippines – PINASALAMATAN ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ang gobyerno ng Qatar, Egypt at Israel matapos na matagumpay na nakaalis ang 40 Filipino at isang Palestinian spouse ang Gaza Strip sa pamamagitan ng Rafah border crossing.
Ito ang first batch ng mga Filipino na nakatawid sa border sa pagtutulungan ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas kasama ang Israel at Egypt.
“Very grateful that finally, an initial group of 40 Filipinos have safely exited Gaza and crossed to Egypt for eventual repatriation,” ayon kay DFA Secretary Enrique Manalo sa kanyang X, dating Twitter.
“I thank our partners, especially the governments Israel and Egypt for their help, and commend the efforts of our embassies in Israel, Egypt, and Jordan,” dagdag na wika nito.
Sa hiwalay na tawag kay Qatar Ambassador to the Philippines Ahmed Saad Al-Homidi, ipinaabot ni Manalo na kinikilala ng Maynila ang papel ng Doha sa pagbubukas ng border crossing.
“We acknowledge and deeply appreciate Qatar’s crucial mediation efforts in the opening of the Rafah border crossing, allowing foreign nationals, including Filipinos, to exit Gaza,” aniya pa rin.
“The Philippines and Qatar are united in our goal of a lasting peace in the region,” dagdag na pahayag nito.
Wala namang impormasyon sa ngayon kung kailan makalalabas ng Gaza Strip ang susunod na batch ng mga Filiipino evacuees. Kris Jose
