MANILA, Philippines – Tinwawag ng United States Department of Defense ang pinakahuling aksyon ng China sa West Philippine Sea bilang “provacative”, sabay ng babala na posible pa itong humantong sa mas maraming karahasan.
Binatikos ni Pentagon Press Secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder ang China sa pinakahuling ramming incident sa West Philippine Sea kung saan walong sundalong Pinoy ang nasaktan. Isa rito ay nawalan pa ng hinlalaki.
“This kind of behavior is provocative, it’s reckless, it’s unnecessary, and as you highlight, it could lead to something bigger and more violent,” ayon kay Ryder sa isang press briefing.
“We condemn the escalatory and irresponsible actions by the PRC (People’s Republic of China) to deny the Philippines from executing a lawful maritime operation in the South China Sea,” dagdag pa niya.
Iginiit ni Ryder na patuloy na maninindigan ang US sa panig ng Pilipinas sa naturang isyu.
“We are going to continue to stand with our Philippine allies.”
“China’s dangerous and reckless behavior in the West Philippine Sea shall be resisted by the AFP,” saad naman sa naunang pahayag ni Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. RNT/JGC
