MANILA, Philippines – Nagbabala ang Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) sa publiko laban sa red tide sa dagat na sakop ng Bohol at Zamboanga del Sur.
Sa Shellfish Bulletin No. 17, Series of 2023 na inilabas nitong Miyerkules, Hulyo 12, sinabi ng BFAR na nagpositibo sa Paralytic Shellfish Poison (PSP) o red tide toxin na higit sa regulatory limit, ang mga lamang-dagat na nakolekta at nasuri mula sa coastal waters ng Dauis at Tagbilaran City sa Bohol; at Dumanquillas Bay sa Zamboanga del Sur.
“All types of shellfish and Acetes sp. or alamang gathered from the area shown above are not safe for human consumption,” saad sa bulletin.
Binalaan ang mga mangingisda sa mga nasabing lugar mula sa pagkolekta, pagbebenta, pagbili at pagkain ng ilang seafood.
Samantala, sinabi naman ng BFAR na ang mga isda at pusit ay ligtas kainin basta’t linising mabuti.
“Fish, squids, shrimps, and crabs are for human consumption provided that they are fresh and washed thoroughly, and internal organs such as gills and intestines are removed before cooking,” dagdag pa niya. RNT/JGC
