MANILA, Philippines – LAYON ng Department of Education (DepEd) na i-roll out ang updated Kinder to Grade 10 (K-10) curriculum para sa school year (SY) 2024-2025
Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni DepEd spokesperson Michael Poa na ang target rollout date ay consistent sa commitment ng DepEd na makakuha at makonsidera ang lahat ng public comments para ma-fine-tune ang K-10 curriculum bago pa ito ipatupad.
“Of course, ang gusto nating makuha talaga, ay lahat ng comments ng public, ma-consider natin para ma-tweak pa natin further ‘yung K-10 curriculum,” ayon kay Poa sabay sabing ang nakapaskil na curriculum guide ay draft lamang.
Tinukoy pa nito na “in reference to the guide,” ang “mother tongue” ay dapat na manatiling ginagamit bilang “medium of instruction.”
“It’s still a working draft, that’s why we want to get the comments. According to our curriculum guide, and we would like to clarify this, we did not remove the mother tongue as a medium of instruction. What we removed was mother tongue as a subject,” ani Poa.
Sa ngayon ang curriculum strand ng DepEd ay nananatiling nasa proseso na tipunin ang lahat ng mga komento para tulungan na isapinal ang revised curriculum.
Tiniyak pa ng DepEd, sa oras na maisapinal na, ang draft ng updated curriculum guide para sa Grades 11 at 12 o Senior High School (SHS) ay dapat na ipalabas din “for transparency.”
“Consultation muna po tayo again, and then after that, magkakaroon muna tayo ng review proper and then saka na ‘yung revision,”ayon kay Poa. Kris Jose
