MANILA, Philippines – Nagsilbing donasyon ng pamahalaan ng South Korea ang ilang agricultural infrastructures na binuo para mapalakas pa ang kita ng mga magsasaka.
Pinangunahan ni South Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Sang-hwa ang completion ceremony ng siyam na greenhouses at isang postharvest building sa Siniloan, Laguna noong nakaraang linggo.
Bahagi ito ng proyektong “Pilot Village Project through the Establishment of Protective Cultivation and Postharvest Management of Vegetables in the Philippines” ng Korea Partnership for Innovation of Agriculture, isang innovative official development assistance program ng Rural Development Administration, na bahagi ng international outreach programs ng South Korea.
Inaasahang magdadala ng mas “stable” na kita sa mga magsasaka ang naturang proyekto at mahihikayat pa nito ang mga kabataan na magtanim.
Ani Lee, “elevating the farmers’ living standards is key to the Philippines’ quest to become an upper middle-income country.”
Maliban sa Siniloan, ang iba pang pilot village projects ay ginagawa sa Lucban, Quezon at Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija. RNT/JGC
