MANILA, Philippines- Inilahad ni US Senator Tammy Duckworth nitong Lunes sa Filipino senators na ang America ay nasa likod ng Pilipinas sa pagprotekta nito sa soberanya sa West Philippine Sea (WPS), ayon kay Senate Juan Miguel Zubiri.
“She shares our strong resolve to pursue Freedom of Navigation and the Rule of Law as dictated by the UNCLOS. She relayed that the US is squarely behind their oldest treaty ally when it comes to protecting our sovereignty in the WPS,” ani Zubiri.
Bumisita si Duckworth sa Pilipinas kasama si US Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson, at nakipagkita kina Zubiri, Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda, at Senator Francs Tolentino.
Base kay Zubiri, tinalakay ni Duckworth at Filipino senators ang kooperasyon sa pagitan ng Estados Unidos at Pilipinas sa iba’t ibang usapin, partikular sa defense, energy, environment, at trade.
