MANILA, Philippines – Patay sa pamamaril ang Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team leader ng Iloilo City na rumesponde sa buy-buy-operation na isinagawa ng mga awtoridad sa Barangay Concepcion nitong Linggo.
Kinilala ang nasawi na si Police Staff Sergeant Michael Malan habang naaresto naman ang suspek na si Glen “Bongbong” Yturiaga, at live-in partner nito, at isa pang suspek.
Nasa 1,156 grams ng shabu ang nakuha sa mga suspek na aabot sa P7.8 milyon ang halaga.
“SWAT team was dispatched at the area, to neutralize the danger posted by the suspect, being armed and dangerous. PSSg Malan entered the room where the suspect is hiding but, he was shot hitting on his chest. The said Police officer was rushed to Iloilo St Paul’s for immediate medical intervention but, later declared dead,” ayon sa pahayag.
Nagpaabot din ng pakikiramay si Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas sa pamilya ni Malan, at maging sa kapulisan ng lungsod. RNT
