MANILA, Philippines – Isang panukalang batas na naglalayong alisan na ng taripa ang e-motorcycles ang inihain sa Kamara ni Albay Rep Joey Salceda.
Layon ng House Bill 9573 na inakda ni Salceda na maamyendahan ang Executive Order 12.
Sa ilalim ng EO 12, ang e-motorcycles ay pinapatawan pa ng 30% tariff rate, habang exempted sa tariff ang two-wheeled e-vehicles.
Sa panukala ni Salceda ay isasama na rin sa listahan ng hindi papatawan ng taripa ang e-motorcycles.
“While e-motorcycles were the most affordable electric vehicles and may be a possible solution to congestion, they were not included in the current measure,” paliwanag ni Salceda.
“Some 60 percent of electric vehicles are two-wheeled, meaning that the vast majority of electric vehicles do not benefit from the tax incentives granted under the law. In order to address these issues, this proposal clarifies in its definition of terms that electric vehicles include two-wheeled vehicles,” dagdag pa nito.
