MANILA, Philippines- Isang House Resolution ang inihain sa Kamara ng Makabayan Bloc na humihiling na alisin na ang terrorist tag sa mga leftist organizations gayundin ang hiling nito na ibalik na ang peace talk.
Sa inihaing House Resolution 756 ay umapela sina ACT Teachers Partylist France Castro, Gabriela PartyList Rep. Arlene Brosas at Kabataan Party-list Rep. Raoul Manuel sa Anti-Terrorism Council na tanggalin na ang pagtukoy bilang terorista sa Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP),New People’s Army (NPA) at National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP).
Iginiit ng tatlong mambabatas na ang pagtanggal sa terrorist tag ay “prelude” o bilang pagumpisa na ng gagawing peace talk.
Matatandaan na ang peace talk sa pagitan ng gobyerno at makakaliwabg grupo ay natigil noong 2018 sa termino ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
“Be it further resolved that the Government of the Philippines restart peace negotiations with the NDF with the aim of achieving just and lasting peace through negotiated binding agreements that will institute social, economic, and political reforms to address the roots of armed conflict,” nakasaad sa resolusyon.
Sinabi ni Castro na sa kasaysayan ay napatunayan na ang peace negotiations ay epektibong paraan para sa kaayusan sa pagitan ng eftist groups at umaasa ito na sa kasalukuyang administrasyon ay matatamo ang hangad kapayapaan.
“Such ‘terrorist tagging’ is used to justify government suppression of constitutionally protected rights and liberties, including freedom of expression, freedom of the press, freedom of association, freedom of assembly, and academic freedom, and is often followed by state surveillance, harassment, arrest and prolonged detention on trumped-up charges, enforced disappearances, and extrajudicial killings,” dagdag pa ni Castro.
