Tourism development plan, OK na kay PBBM

MANILA, Philippines – INAPRUBAHAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., ang National Tourism Development Plan for 2023-2028  na magsisilbi bilang blueprint ng  tourism industry ng Pilipinas.

Ito ang inanunsyo ni Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco sa  Palace press briefing kasunod ng sectoral meeting kasama ang Pangulo, Martes ng umaga, Mayo 16.

“This NTDP is the result of consultation among the tourism coordinating council as well as our various tourism stakeholders from our regions all over the Philippines. The NTDP shall serve as the blueprint and the development framework for the tourism industry for the duration of the Marcos administration,” ayon kay Frasco.

Aniya, ang nasabing plano ay nakatuon sa pagbibigay sa bansa ng pagkakataon na maging “tourism powerhouse.”

“These objectives involve not simply the promotion of the Philippines which we will continue domestically and internationally but also, more importantly, addressing the essential issues of tourism development, including the development of infrastructure, connectivity, as well as digitalization, the equalization of tourism, development, and promotion, the enhancement of overall tourism experience as well as the strengthening of tourism governance,” paliwanag ni Frasco.

Aniya, ang plano ay magsisilbi bilang guide o gabay para sa mga rehiyon sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa “to spread countrywide development through tourism,” sabay sabing makadaragdag din ito ng hanapbuhay sa mga Filipino.

“Mabibigyan po ng pagkakataon ‘yung ating mga kababayan na magkaroon ng tourism employment sa pamamagitan ng pag-develop natin ng tourism circuits and to continue to push for tourism across our regions and provinces,” aniya pa rin.

Samantala, ipinangako naman ni Information and Communications Technology Secretary Ivan John Uy na magpapaabot ito ng suporta sa DOT sa tourism plan nito, lalo na sa isyu ng koneksyon.

Sinabi nito na karamihan sa mga turista ay pawang mga vloggers na gumagawa ng content ukol sa kanilang karanasan sa  tourist spots.

Winika ni Uy  na ang DoT ang magbibigay sa DICT ng listahan ng 94 tourist destinations na nakararanas ng connectivity challenges.

“With that list, in a matter of few months, we’ve already put into the program that for the first phase, we will be able to deploy about 46 out of the 94 destinations that will be lightened with internet connectivity,” ayon kay Uy. Kris Jose
