MANILA, Philippines- Matagumpay na nailunsad ng Pilipinas ang unang high-powered hybrid rocket nito na may misyong mag-deploy ng Can Satellite (CanSat) sa atmosphere, base sa ulat nitong Martes.
Binuo ang TALA, 10 feet ang taas at may bigat na 15 kilo, ng mga estudyante at space technology researchers mula sa St. Cecilia’s College sa Cebu sa ilalim ng Young Innovators Program ng Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development.
Base sa Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA), umarangkada ang TALA, dakong alas-11:57 ng umaga nitong Sabado, sa Crow Valley Gunnery Range sa Capas, Tarlac. Idineploy nito ang Can Satellite payload bago ikasa ang “fast descent” at gumamit ng main parachute para sa ligtas na landing.
“Among the features of the TALA rocket are flight sensors, a GPS, a dual parachute deployment, and a payload system to bring a Can Satellite (CanSat) up to approximately 5 kilometers into the atmosphere,” anang PhilSA.
“According to the TALA team, sending CanSats into the atmosphere using hybrid rockets is more effective than deploying these simulated satellites using drones since hybrid rockets can deploy to higher altitudes. CanSats are used in educational settings to remotely gather environment data,” dagdag nito.
Nakatakda sanang ilunsad ang TALA noong 2020 subalit naantala dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic. Nitong 2022, sinimulan ng TALA team at PhilSA ang paghahanda sa launch.
Binubuo ang TALA team ng limang estudyante– Christian Lawrence Cantos, John Harold Abarquez, Joshua Pardoria, Joefer Emmanuel Capangpangan, at Dorothy Mae Daffon– at kabilang mga mentor na sina Almida Plarisan at Wilfredo Pardoria Jr. RNT/SA
