VALENZUELA PARKS RIGHT UNDER NLEX HARBOR LINK

THE Valenzuela City government has broken ground for two recreational parks – the Paw and Skate Parks – right under the highways of the North-Luzon Expressway Harbor Link in Barangay Karuhatan.

These two recreational parks, the Paw and Skate Parks will be open spaces dedicated to the city folks where they can conduct their activities and spend their leisure time, according to Mayor Wes Gatchalian.

“It is a center for congregation, the center of a community. There are elders, children, people who may or may not have families, students practicing, pet lovers, and church groups who conduct their bible studies; all different sorts.”

The Paw Park will be a recreational area designated for pets and pet owners while the Skate Park will be made up of specially-curated facilities dedicated to skateboard enthusiasts to use in their practice and leisure time.

Navotas’ renovated sports complex, cash aid to solo parents

Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiangco has formally opened its newly renovated sports complex as he distributed cash aid to solo parents.

“The Navotas Sports Complex bore witness to some of our city’s milestone events. Most notably, this place served as our mega swabbing and vaccination center during the peak of the pandemic.”

Rep. Toby Tiangco, meanwhile, urged the residents to take care of the complex for it to be used for a longer time.

The city government also distributed financial assistance to some 200 NavoteƱos who received P2,000 cash subsidy.

The Tiangco brothers recognized the hardships and sacrifices of solo parents for their families.

Cold storage temporarily ordered closed

Mayor JRT has quickly ordered the temporary closure of the cold storage facility pending an investigation following ammonia leak and fire.

He also made sure that those hospitalized were treated properly before they were allowed to go back home as he assured of full assistance to the family of a teenager who died during the incident.
