MANILA, Philippines- Isang tradisyunal na vin d’honneur ang idinaos ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang, Martes ng gabi kasama ang diplomatic corps.
Sa nasabing event, sina Pangulong Marcos Jr. at Papal Nuncio Charles Brown, kinokonsidera rin na dean ng Diplomatic Corps, ay nag-‘toast’ sa mga foreign envoys at iba pang opisyal ng pamahalaan na nakiisa sa nasabing okasyon.
Sa naging talumpati ng Pangulo, ibinahagi nito ang pinakabagong pagdalo niya sa World Economic Forum sa Switzerland at kung paano niya ipinresenta ang economic agenda ng administrasyon.
“This economic forum is particularly important because it provided the opportunity to tell the good news about the Philippine economy and announce our plans and programs to the global business leaders,” ayon sa Pangulo.
“I also revealed the plan for the creation of the sovereign wealth fund or the Maharlika Fund. This will diversify our financial portfolio by creating new revenue schemes for the country. The economic team of the Executive branch is ready to closely work with Congress, with all stakeholders to thresh out well-crafted law,” dagdag na pahayag nito.
Idinagdag pa ng Pangulo na target ng Pilipinas na makamit ang “upper middle income status” kasunod ng pg- rollout sa Philippine Development Plan na aniya’y daan para sa “social and economic transformation” ng bansa.
“I urge our friends from the diplomatic community to work with us in achieving our development goals…through partnerships and cooperation with your respected governments and also your private sectors. Let us discuss opportunities where our countries can participate for the mutual benefit of the Philippines and your countries,” giit ng Pangulong Marcos.
Binigyang-diin pa ng Punong Ehekutibo kung paano binibigyan at nilalagyan ng “great importance” ang international engagements ng bansa para sa pagsusulong ng “peace, security and prosperity” sa ibang bansa sa buong mundo.
“As it continues to be a cornerstone of Philippine foreign policy, we aim to elevate our relations with bilateral and multilateral partners. We are a staunch champion of multilateralism and remain invested in working with partners in building a stronger united nations – one that is more fair, more constructive and more united,” ang wika pa ng Pangulo.
Muli namang inulit ng Pangulo ang kanyang panawagan na suportahan ang bansa na makasungkit ng puwesto sa United Nations Security Council (UNSC) na may terminong 2027 hanggang 2028.
Ang UNSC ang itinuturing na “in charge” sa “maintaining international peace and security, develop friendly relations among nations, cooperate in solving international problems and in promoting respect for human rights” sa hanay ng mga miyembro ng United Nations.
At nang itaas na niya ang toast, inimbitahan ni Pangulong Marcos ang diplomatic community na palakasin ang bond o pagkakaisa sa pagitan ng mga nasyon para sa mutual benefit ng mga bansa at mamamayan nito.
Para naman kay Brown, tiniyak nito kay Pangulong Marcos na suportado ng diplomatic corps ang nilalayon ng adminitrasyon para sa “poor and the marginalized” para sa taong 2023 at higit pa.
“It is an honor for me to express that we have all the members of the diplomatic corps. Our heartfelt best wishes for the new year blessed with peace, prosperity, mutual understanding and global solidarity,” anito.
Ang Vin d’honneur ay isang official reception kung saan si Pangulong Marcos ang nag-host sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang, ayon sa kaugalian, ginagawa ito tuwing Bagong Taon.
Ang Vin d’honneur ay mula sa French practice, nangangahulugan ng “wine of honor,” at ginagawa matapos ang inagurasyon, talumpati at seremonya. Kris Jose
