Voucher program para sa tertiary education, aprub na sa Kamara

MANILA, Philippines- Pasado na sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa sa House of Representatives ang House Bill No 7922 o Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education(UniFAST) na naglalayong magtatag ng voucher program para sa mga kuwalipikadong mahihirap na estudyante na nagnanais mag-aral sa mga private higher educational institutions (HEIs) at technical vocational institutions (TVIs).

Sa ilalim ng panukala, ang UNIFAST Board ay mag-aadminister ng voucher system para sa mga benepisyaryo na nagnanais na makapag-aral sa state universities and colleges (SUCs), local universities and colleges (LUCs) at public TVIs.

Ang Unifast ang magdedetermina ng mga kuwalipikadong estudyante para sa programa.

“We are confident that with this proposed legislation, we will be able to help poor but deserving students to continue and finish their tertiary education. The House of Representatives has always committed and will stay committed to passing bills that will best serve our youth,” pahayag  ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Prayoridad na makakuha ng voucher ang mga kuwalipikadong estudyante na nasa  Listahanan 3 ng  Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at mga estudyante na ang mga magulang ay may mababang income. Gail Mendoza
