SINABI ng Home Development Mutual Fund o Pag-IBIG Fund na maaaring nang mag-avail ang mga miyembro na apektado ng Severe Tropical Storm Kristine ng ‘one-month housing loan payment moratorium at calamity loan.’
Sinabi ng Pag-IBIG na maaaring nang mag-apply ang mga miyembro nito na nakatira o nagtatrabaho sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng state of calamity— kabilang na ang mga lugar sa Region IV-A, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley Region, Region V, Region VIII, at National Capital Region.
Ang pagbabayad ng mga miyembro sa housing loans o installments ay suspendido para sa approved period “at no additional cost,” ayon sa Pag-IBIG.
Ang mga Eligible members ay maaarin namang mag-apply para sa moratorium program hanggang December 31, 2024, ito naman ay sa pamamagitan ng Virtual Pag-IBIG o sa malapit na Pag-IBIG branch.
“We want to provide relief to our members in the hardest-hit areas as they recover from the impact of the typhoon,” ang sinabi ni Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar ng Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development at chairperson ng 11-member Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees.
Tinuran pa ng Pag-IBIG na ang calamity loan ay isa sa short-term loan programs ng ahensiya na dinisenyo para makapagbigay ng ‘relief at support’ sa mga miyembro na nakatira at nagtatrabaho sa mga lugar na deklaradong nasa ilalim ng state of calamity.
Ang mga kuwalipikadong miyembro ay maaaring humiram ng hanggang 80% ng kanilang kabuuang Pag-IBIG regular savings, binubuo ng kanilang ‘monthly contributions, kanilang employer’s contributions, at accumulated dividends earned.’
Sinabi pa ng Pag-IBIG na ang calamity loan ay inalok na may annual interest rate na 5.95%, na may payment terms na 24 o 36 months at ang unang payment ay ipinagpaliban sa loob ng tatlong buwan.
Para sa mga miyembro na kailangan ng financial assistance sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng state of calamity, nag-alok ang Pag-IBIG ng multi-purpose loan.
“We want to assure our members that we will remain proactive in helping them recover. Our immediate priority is to give them assistance in all the ways we can. Our Lingkod Pag-IBIG on Wheels (LPOW) are scheduled to deploy in various areas in Quezon City, Valenzuela, Malabon, Laguna, Batangas, and Bicol,”ang sinabi ni Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene Acosta.
“Through our LPOW, Pag-IBIG members may submit their calamity loan applications to aid in their immediate recovery, file for insurance claims if their homes mortgaged under Pag-IBIG Fund are damaged, and file for a housing loan for major home repairs. Our members can always count on us for timely and reliable assistance, especially in times of need,” ang sinabi pa rin ni Acosta.
