MANILA, Philippines – Pinagtibay na sa plenaryo ang pagdismis sa impeachment complaint na inihain laban kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. ito ay matapos na ideklara ng House Committee on Justice na “insufficient in substance.”
Sa botong 284 pumabor, walong tutol at apat na abstentions ay pinagtibay ng Malaking Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang House Resolution No. 746 at inaprubahan ang Committee Report No. 111 ng Justice Committee na pinamumunuan ni Batangas Rep. Gerville “Jinky Bitrics” Luistro.
“The impeachment complaints filed against President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos are hereby dismissed,” ang deklarasyon ni Deputy Speaker Janette Garin, na siyang nag-preside sa plenaryo nitong Martes ng hapon, Pebrero 10.
Sa kaniyang sponsorship speech ay sinabi ni Luistro na ang justice panel ay parehong naideklarang wala o kulang sa sustansya ang De Jesus at Maza et al.
“Ultimately, these complaints failed to establish any factual nexus between the President and an impeachable offense. What were presented were policy disagreements and generalized accusations, not ultimate facts,” ayon kay Luistro at aniya’y hindi sapat ang reklamo upang sumulong ito sa ilalim ng “culpable violation of the Constitution.”
Ang pagbasura sa nabanggit na impeachment complaints ay pinaboran din ng mga partido sa Kamara gaya ng Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats, Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), National Unity Party, at ng Party-list Coalition Foundation Inc.
Si Quezon Rep. Mark Enverga ng NPC ay nagsabing ginawa lamang ng justice committee ang nakasaad sa Constitution at House rules sa pagbasura sa dalawang impreachment complaints.
