200 dayuhan, sinuri sa anti-trafficking ops sa ZamboSibugay

ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY, Philippines – Umabot sa 200 dayuhan ang isinailalim sa processing ng mga awtoridad sa operasyon laban sa human trafficking, paglabag sa immigration laws at scam-related activities sa Alicia at Siay, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Pinangunahan ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) at Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang operasyon, sa tulong ng Joint Task Force (JTF) ZAMPELAN at Philippine Army’s 1st Infantry Division (1ID).

Ayon sa 1ID, isinagawa ang operasyon matapos ang patuloy na intelligence gathering at koordinasyon ng mga ahensya kaugnay ng umano’y ilegal na aktibidad na kinasasangkutan ng tinatayang 200 foreign nationals.

“Their immigration status, individual circumstances, and possible involvement in any unlawful activity remain subject to verification and investigation by the competent authorities,” pahayag ng 1ID.

Narekober din ang nasa 2,000 mobile phones, pati mga computer, laptop at iba pang electronic equipment.

Iniimbestigahan ng mga awtoridad ang posibleng human trafficking, exploitation, coercion, illegal recruitment at restriction of movement.

Sinabi ni JTF ZAMPELAN at 1ID commander Maj. Gen. Yegor Rey Barroquillo Jr., “Those who may have been victimized must receive the protection and assistance they need, while those found responsible for violations of our laws must be held accountable through the proper legal process.”

Isinagawa ang operasyon sa ilalim ng Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022 at Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, as amended.

Ayon sa militar, maglalabas ang NBI at BI ng karagdagang detalye sa nationalities ng mga dayuhan, mga posibleng pag-aresto, nakuhang ebidensya at maaaring ikaso matapos ang validation at documentation. RNT/MDS
