MANILA, Philippines – Ang Philippine National Police (PNP) ay nagtalaga ng apat sa mga espesyal na yunit nito upang tulungan ang Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) sa pag-verify ng mga umano’y iregularidad sa pagkontrol ng baha at mga proyektong pang-imprastraktura ng pamahalaan.
Sinabi ni PNP spokesperson Brig. Sinabi ni Gen. Randulf Tuaño noong Huwebes na ang Engineering Service, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Forensic Group, at Information Technology and Management Service (ITMS) ang mangunguna sa teknikal at investigative na suporta ng pulisya sa ICI.
“These offices have already begun meeting based on the requirements of the ICI,” saad ni Tuaño. “Our geodetic engineers will help validate the project coordinates cited in the ICI report to determine whether the identified locations actually exist.”
Sinabi ni Tuaño na nagsimula na ang organisasyon ng pulisya sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa ICI, kasunod ng pagpupulong noong Martes sa Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Nilinaw ni Tuaño na limitado ang partisipasyon ng PNP sa technical verification at forensic validation, not policy o procurement matters. Ang Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management ay mag-uugnay sa mga aktibidad ng apat na unit upang matiyak ang tuluy-tuloy na suporta.
“For example, the ICI noted more than 400 supposed ghost projects, each with assigned longitude and latitude data,” aniya. “Our teams will cross-check those coordinates through engineering and forensic validation.”
Tiniyak din ni Tuaño na ang regular na operasyon ng PNP ay hindi maaapektuhan ng mga karagdagang gawain nito sa ilalim ng inisyatiba ng ICI. Ang mga kahilingan sa badyet na nauugnay sa paglahok nito ay depende sa mga pangangailangan sa pagpapatakbo at kasalukuyang nasa ilalim ng pagsusuri. RNT/MND
