MANILA, Philippines – Panibagong testigo ang tuluyan nang ibinasura ng Prosecution Panel ang anim na testigo sa grave threat at inciting to sedition sa Article IV ng Articles of Impeachment ngunit ipapatawag naman din nito ang dalawang manager ng bangko na pinagdedeposituhan ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
Sa ginanap na press briefing pagkatapos ng sesyon, sinabi ni Impeachment Court Spokesman Atty. Reginal Tongol na base sa manipestasyon ni House Prosecution Panel Lead Gerville Luistro na hindi na ipapatawag ang kinatawan ng PNP Firearms and Explosives Office; Journalist Mikhail Flores at Bonz Magsumbol, Sherif Abe Andes, ilang miyembro ng pamilya ng biktima ng pananakot at isang kinalap na psychiatrist.
“She further manifested that Atty. Matibag will be presented on Tuesday, July 21, 2026,” ayon kay Tongol.
Hiniling din ni Luistro sa Impeachment court, ayon kay Tongol na magpalabas ng subpoena ad testificandum at duses tecum sa mga sumusunod na testgio sa Article I ng Articles of Impeachment.
Kabilang dito isang Marivic Pareja (July 21 & 22, 2026), dalawang empleyado ng Landbank, (July 21 & 22, 2026) at Violeta Constantino, Branch Manager Shaw Blvd. Branch at Nenita Camposano, Branch Manager DepEd Branch.
Ipapatawag din ng impeachment court si Lynette Ortiz, president at chief executive officer ng Land Bank of the Philippines pero subpoena duces tecum lamang.
“Upon clarification of Senator-Judge Bam Aquino, the Presiding Officer confirmed that the defense will present its evidence AFTER the House Panel of Prosecutors have finished the presentation of evidence-in-chief of ALL of the Articles of Impeachment,” ayon kay Tongol.
Sinabi pa ni Tongol na “the Lead Defense Counsel Atty. Sison manifested that the Counsel for Prosecutors made lengthy and unnecessary statements during yesterday’s hearing and asked the Court to remind the parties to refrain from doing so. “
Inaprubahan ni Presiding Officer Senator-judge Francis “Chiz” Escudero ang naturang manipestation saka pinaalalahanan ang lahat ng Partido na iwasan ang pagsasagawa ng mahahabang manipestasyon.
“Senator-Judge Kiko Pangilinan manifested that the proposal of the Presiding Officer to allow unnecessary statements to both parties would have been the better ruling since the Impeachment Court is a political proceeding as well and shouldn’t be bound by very technical rules,” ayon kay Tongol.
