MANILA, Philippines – Muling nahalal ang Pilipinas sa United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD), sinabi ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
Ayon sa DFA nitong Biyernes, Abril 12, ang eleksyon ay ginanap noong Abril 9 sa 12th plenary meeting ng United Nations (UN) Economic and Social Council sa New York.
“The Philippines will continue its active engagement in the CSW and CSTD and contribute in the work programs and initiatives of these two important UN bodies,” ani Antonio Lagdameo, Philippine Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN.
Ang termino ng Pilipinas sa CSW ay mula 2025 hanggang 2029 habang ang termino nito sa CSTD ay mula 2025 hanggang 2028.
Samantala, nagpakita lamang umano ang reelection ng bansa ng tiwala mula sa international community.
Nangako naman ang Pilipinas na magpapatuloy ito sa pag-aambag tungo sa kaunlaran at pagsulong ng gender equality at science and technology. RNT/JGC
