MANILA, Philippines- Tututukan ng Philippine Air Force (PAF) FA-50PHs light jet fighters at mga piloto nito ang fighter combat tactics sa “Pitch Black” exercise ngayong taon na ioorganisa ng Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) sa lungsod ng Darwin sa Australia.
“Exercises of (the) FA-50s include basic fighting maneuvers, air combat maneuvering, and other fighter aircraft tactics,” pahayag ni PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo sa isang panayam nitong Huwebes.
Nilalayon ng pagsasanay na paigtingin ang kahusayan ng Filipino fighter pilots sa air combat, dagdag ng opisyal.
Idineploy ng PAF ang apat na FA-50PHs at isang C-130 transport aircraft, kasama ang 162 personnel para sa “Pitch Black,” na kasado ngayong Biyernes hanggang sa Agosto.
“This exercise is a historic event as it is the first time that the PAF has sent its aircraft overseas for an international exercise,” giit ni Castillo.
Bukod sa air combat maneuvers na sasalihan ng FA-50PHs, makikilahok din ang PAF contingent sa iba pang “Pitch Black” drills, base sa opisyal.
“There will be field training exercises, flight integration training, and training on large-force employment. Other participants will also take part in several community engagements, sports activities, and socialization with Filipino communities in Australia,” aniya.
