MANILA, Philippines- Pinabilis ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ang clearance ng 1 milyong capsules ng doxycycline, base sa Department of Health (DOH) nitong Biyernes.
Inihayag ni Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa na ikinasa ito ni FDA Director-General Samuel Zacate sa Emergency Command Conference at sinimulan na umano ng DOH ang delivery ng gamot na inirereseta bilang prophylaxis at medikasyon para sa leptospirosis sa lahat ng rehiyon sa buong bansa.
“I have also instructed the emergency purchase of medicines for chronic conditions of evacuees, such as hypertension and diabetes, as well as for the other health conditions of people in evacuation. We will continue to provide health services to the people as directed by President Marcos,” anang opisyal.
Iniulat ng DOH regional directors ang mga aksyon ng DOH at ng local government physicians, nurses, midwives, barangay health workers at iba pang health staff sa evacuation centers.
Patuloy nilang sinusuri ang medical at public health service needs, namamahagi ng pagkain para sa wastong nutrisyon at nagsasagawa ng water, sanitation, hygiene, at waste disposal services.
Nagbibigay din sila ng mental health at psychosocial support services para sa evacuees.
Inatasan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. nitong Huwebes si Herbosa na maghatid ng basic medical care sa evacuation centers. RNT/SA
