MANILA, Philippines – Nakikitaan ng Department of Justice (DOJ) ng “red flag” ang sunod-sunod na mga maritime mishap sa Bataan, sinabi ni Justice Undersecretary Raul Vasquez nitong Sabado, Agosto 3.
Nang hingan ng komento si Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla sa posibleng pagkakaugnay-ugnay sa mga insidenteng ito, sinabi ni Vasquez na ito ang aalamin ng mga imbestigador.
“Iimbitahan sila, kasama sa fact-finding ‘yan,” ani Vasquez na tumutukoy sa mga may-ari ng barko at iba pang posibleng sangkot.
“‘Yun ang isang red flag eh, pare-parehas na magkakadikit,” dagdag pa niya.
Matatandaan na magkakasunod na lumubog ang Motor Tankers (MTKRs) Terranova at Jason Bradley sa Limay at Mariveles, Bataan, habang ang MV Mirola 1 ay sumadsad sa dalampasigan ng Sitio Quiapo, Barangay Biaan, sa Mariveles.
“Maybe [they are] within three to five nautical miles away from each other, so you can draw a lot of conclusions there,” sinabi ni Vasquez, sabay-sabing sa kabila nito ay hindi sila maaaring gumawa ng anumang ‘definitive conclusions.’
Sa ambush interview nitong Biyernes, binanggit ni Remulla na mayroon silang “sufficient findings” na nagpapakitang ang tatlong maritime incidents ay magkaka-ugnay.
“We have significant findings today which we will reveal in due time,” ani Remulla.
Sapat din umano ang mga ebidensya para makapaghain ng reklamo laban sa mga responsable rito.
“Yes, definitely. We’re not talking about an accident here. We’re talking about crime. A crime was committed against our people,” aniya.
“All three are interconnected, I believe, especially the first two,” dagdag pa. RNT/JGC
